Inside an ecosystem of forty microservices
A consumer platform with payments and subscriptions
The constraint
Over forty PHP microservices, twenty shared internal packages and a SQL archive with twelve sub-projects. The catalogue and promotions had to move to a new version while keeping prices identical to the production system.
The intervention
We joined the team's codebase, with its conventions and its pipeline. A four-thousand-line service became a readable object structure, discount rules are evaluated locally instead of through a remote call, and every difference from the legacy system was checked against real data.
What changed
In eight weeks we became the first contributor on five repositories. Add-on calculation went from fourteen calls to one, with response time down by 30%.
Describe the system. We'll tell you what we see.
Ten minutes, one question at a time. At the end, our honest read of the case. It's the filter, before the call.
