The register

Everything lived inside one SAP HANA system.

The constraint

Very different processes lived inside the same SAP HANA business system, which talked to other systems through SOAP services described by WSDLs. Moving them to the cloud first meant understanding where one domain ended and the next began.

The intervention

We read the system with the tools of domain-driven design: domains, boundaries, a language shared with the people who use it. From that map came a microservices architecture on AWS, with each service responsible for its own domain.

What changed

The migration is complete. The processes of the old system now live in independent cloud services, with boundaries that mirror the business.

Describe the system. We'll tell you what we see.
